Come together as a community to make a difference. In September volunteers from local businesses, churches and schools work together on projects and chores for the elderly, disabled, United Way agencies, and other public and non-profit organizations. Volunteers start the day on September 28, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at Detwiler Field, where they enjoy a continental breakfast as we kickoff our Community Campaign. Recent disasters, now covering more than a dozen states, are devastating the Midwest, East Coast and Gulf Coast. The United Ways of the Midwest and South Disaster Fund provides emergency assistance, such as help with food and shelter, as well as support for long-term recovery efforts in education, financial stability and health to rebuild lives devastated by these disasters.
